Dudhwa National park is a reserved and protected area in UP that stretches bahraich district and Lakhimpur kheri and comprises Dudhwa National park and kishanpur wildlife sanctuary and Katarniaghat wild life sanctuary. It comes under the sub Himalayan range and is called the terai belt. It covers the area of 1284.3 km and has the Indo-Nepal border with its boundary and it is defined by the large mohana river. Dudhwa national park and kaziranga national park is separated by an agricultural land of 15 kms. Being tiger reserve, it became popular in the year 1977 and acquired the project tiger during 1988.
